Easter weekend 2008 was fantastic as we had friends from Brisbane, Melbourne and throughout NSW joining us at Falling Gum for a working bee weekend. The work concentrated on former Babinda loco, Fishery. The faded yellow paint was scraped off in readiness for undercoat followed by a fresh coat of black and orange (yet to be applied). We have started work in PCH1225 building internal walls deviding the car into a study and two bedrooms. Labor Day weekend (NSW) in October we are all getting together again at Falling Gum for what will be another fun and entertaining time.

January 2008

Well it is the start of a new year and that has renewed our enthusiasm. We are still having problems with the local council approving the subdivision but we are making progress.Rome wasn't built in a day such is the case with 'Falling Gum'. We are awaiting delivery of our new tool shed which is an MHG guards van. It should arrive next week. All the rain has helped improve the block immensely.

Finally we are back in Parkes it has been a long round trip, we are still waiting for DA approval to start our home. However we now have 3 carriages, 1 loco some rail and very shortly a MHG caboose will be delivered for Bernie's shed!

We have not had time to do much to our website until now so keep checking up on what we are doing. We will be adding images of the property very soon.

March 2007

We now have both our PCH cars, numbers 1222 and 1225. These will form the sides of our new house, encompassing bedrooms, bathrooms, rumpus room and offices. We also have an end platform car, built in 1897. This will be the reading room and model railway layout room. This is separate to our house.

Also during March, we took delivery of our 2 foot gauge loco, shipped down from Babinda mill in north Queensland.
